    Mr. Yves Brunet, Haiti 2009

    In Haiti wiew from Harry's

If I may interject, Fritz T. I have not seen Dominicans nor Jamaicans, or any other nationality including Haitians post pictures of their slums on the internet. To do so would be unpatriotic, insensitive, uncaring and foolish.

I deeply regret that you felt that this album is showing the "nice things from one of the countries and the "bad" things from another". However your point is valid and it may looks as if we were trying to make a parallel between the 2 nations. That was not the intent of the album. There are so many (at least 10) depicting the beauty of our land. Furthermore, I do not think this specific picture is depicting a slum. There is nothing showing any garbage, filthiness or detritus. It is simply an agglomeration of unsafe housings. As Manny pointed it out, there is an idem picture in an album about the Dominican Rep.

Pikliz strives for the highest level of accuracy and fairness. It would be unprofessional and unethical to show the slums of any country let alone our own. That is not what Pikliz is here for.

If you need to see what pictures of any slums look like, I suggest you to go on Google images, type the word "slum" and you will have an idea. Then, compare the pictures you see and the ones on our site. It's that simple.

Again we are deeply sorry for the way you feel and like the adage says: there are 2 ways to see things. You see the vase half full and I see it half empty or vice versa. I thank you for the comment.
